Position Description:

The
US Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative
Assistant at the United States Agency for International Development.
Basic Function of Position
This
position is part of the Program & Operations Unit team within
USAID/Tanzania. The primary purpose of this position is to provide
administrative support, including logistics and basic procurement
tracking for the Health Office team. This position supports programs,
staff members and implementing partners. The Administrative Assistant
(AA) will provide the full range of administrative functions, including
logistical, procurement tracking, information gathering including
program and project documentation and storage in support of the Health
Team's operational objectives and program areas under American Foreign
Assistance Framework, Investing in People. Under the supervision of the
Program & Operations Officer, the AA initiates administrative
documents for team programs and activities and performs a variety of
programmatic and administrative support duties.

US Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of Project
Management Specialist - Government to Government at the United States
Agency for International Development.
Basic Function of Position
This
position is located in USAID/Tanzania's Strategic Planning and Program
Support Office (SPPS), and includes a range of strategic, programmatic,
management, coordination, monitoring and research responsibilities. The
incumbent will be the primary point of contact of the coordination of
Government to Government (G2G) USAID support in Tanzania. In that
capacity, slhe will support technical team efforts in planning and
designing G2G mechanisms, track all Mission's activities related to G2G
support, coordinate with other Development Partners and inform the
Mission about ongoing mechanisms that use host country government
systems, such as specific basket funds, and project funding, and their
various degrees of success and practicability. The incumbent will serve
as resources to Mission technical teams regarding the use of host
country stems and G2G funding.
The incumbent will manage activities
that support the Mission's Implementation and Procurement Reform (IPR)
Unit around host country government system support mechanisms,
coordinating with other Development Partners, such as specific basket
funds and project funding, and their various degrees of success and
practicability. In addition, the incumbent will have program management
and implementation responsibilities.

Manager, Seafarers Affairs, Training & Certification reports to the Director of Maritime Safety & Security,
Duties and Responsibilities
-To
assist and advise the Director of Maritime Safety & Security on
issues related to Seafarers Affairs, Training & Certification;
-To
advice the Director of Maritime Safety & Security on issues related
to granting accreditation to training institutions and their
programs;
-To administer approval of training equipment including simulators;
-To assess candidates' approved seagoing service and verify their eligibility for award of the relevant certificates;
-To
oversee the process of conducting oral examinations, award of
certificates and record keeping for issued seafarers certificates;
-To manage procedures for seafarers' medical examinations;
-To
coordinate printing of documents for seafarers such as seafarer
qualification certificates, seamen identity and record documents, forms
and to manage their issuance;
-To manage the procedures for engagement and disengagement of seafarers and their conditions of service;
-To
oversee the approval process for licensing of seafarer recruitment and
placement service and to monitor the performance of the service;
-To administer the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Directorate of Maritime Safety and Security;
-To coordinate the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Member State Audit Scheme activities;
-To coordinate issues related with the Maritime Education and Training Fund;
-To
manage the individual set objectives/targets and performance standards
process as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation
with the immediate superior;
-To manage the open performance review and appraisal process of subordinates and provide feedback as appropriate; and
-To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Minimum qualifications and Requirements:
-University
Postgraduate degree in Nautical Science, Maritime safety, Maritime
Education and Training, Marine Engineering, or Master or Chief Engineer
or its equivalent;
-Bachelor Degree in Nautical Science, Maritime
safety, Maritime Education and Training, Marine Engineering, or Master
or Chief Engineer or its equivalent; and
-At least ten (10) years of
working experience, three (3) years of which must be at senior
managerial position in a reputable 1/ institution (preferably
Maritime/shipping services institution), Candidates' Attributes for the

-Possess good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
-Demonstrate
competence in budgeting, setting performance indicators, monitoring and

-Possess
basic knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Terms of Employment
Successful candidates will be
employed on 5-Years Contract including six (6) months probation. The
contracts are renewable, subject to the employee's satisfactory
performance. .
